How to Become a Signal Provider - Trading Signals and Copy ...

WHY SIGNAL CHATS ARE ACTUALLY [email protected]$ING YOU IN THE &SS

See, the answer is quite simple. I really rather not go into excruciating detail because I don’t like blogging. But do like helping poor helpless newbies trying to find there grounds and bearings in this God foresaking market known as forex.
Dramatic, I know. But as someone who has had there fair share of BS in this “journey to profitability”, I can tell you first had signal chats don’t help.
Think about it your giving someone you “trust” or maybe you don’t, a sum of money in return to give you his/her trade entries, exits and take profits. WITHOUT KNOWING HOW THEY EVEN ARRIVED TO THOSE NUMBERS YOUR BASICALLY COPY AND PASTING INTO YOUR MT4🤦‍♂️. You literally no nothing about their strategy, there approach towards the market or there account size and how much they risk per trade. You just got the numbers thinking your gonna make a quick $1000 or 2.
Surely you see the dilemma I’m failingly trying to explain😂.
And let’s say they do give you all those parameters (which I know for a fact they don’t but use your imagination), now you know everything but still follow the signal because “you just want to get the hang of it first”or what ever your excuse is. Now what happens if that person just decides not to given trades out? Like what happens if they have a medical emergency that day or week or month. Or some other thing preventing them from giving signals. Well...YOUR FUCKED, now you can’t even trade cause the signal provider not available 😂. I’m just saying maybe you actually consider learning forex PROPERLY) and not relaying on bogus FOREX GENIUS GOD LIKE TRADING ZILLIONARES lol.
STAY SAFE OUT THERE KIDS, GOOD LUCK ON THE JOURNEY

Forex Scam " Game Changers " Exposed/Review

Towards the start of 2019, i came across this person who followed me on instagram who had a lot of forex posts. As an naive, ambitious person with big goals, I wanted to expand my network and see opportunities. I hit up a guy to tell me about this opportunity. I met up 3 people and met their leader Wasiq Zia.
His friends later quit, around the same time I quit and told me Wasiq Zia HAS LIED ABOUT all his results and manipulated them. I got started the same day as the opportunity sounded amazing. I was part of this scam for over 6 months, and made no money. I had an organization of over 50 people. When I walked away, i still had a good amount of people and could lead it to a profitable network marketing business, but the 6 months i was in this organization had traumatized me and ethically & morally I couldn't continue. All the lies, they used to keep everyone brainwashed. Some of my friends i had gotten in this with me also became very depressed finding out all the lies.
I was putting so much money in my forex and everyday their signals were making me lose money, and doing DoorDash food deliveries to support this venture. I did everything they told me to do, house event, put on my face on stories every day. Dm'd 500+ people, uploaded pictures every couples day. When i found all the lies and that no one was actually making money through Forex, i became very suicidal. As I had lost friends, and even my family did not like who I was becoming, as I was always show boating on instagram.
The truth about network marketing is that IT IS NOT a 300$ admission to having your own business. You need at least 5 figures saved so you can invest in followers, gucci/ LV stuff so people think your ballin' through Forex, but your simply capping.
THEIR SIGNALS DO NOT WORK, i will explain at the end why they did not work. Please please if you do meet them up. Do yourself a favor, ask them to go to their forex account show you at least 1 months trading history. Preferably 3-4 months. It only makes sense for you to see something real. AND please make sure you see the tag on the MT4 app which says "Real' in a gold emblem/ sign.
Here are some of the lies, Rakan Khalifa, Lily Zaremba, Lina (iam_lina1), Emmanuel major, Kaine Harriott.
1) First and foremost their followers are fake. I dont know how delusional lina is to take herself from a few thousand to nearly 50 thousand followers and thinking it looks real. Kaine Harriott has gone from 12.3k fake followers to 67.3k fake followers since checked his profile about a week ago. While i was there, i was also told to get into this fake follower game by Wasiq Zia.
2) Ig.doust (real forex coach) recently exposed Lina, Emmanuel Major and melissa of having a "Free Telegram Forex channel" where they would copy and paste Ig.doust forex signals for his company. These guys do not understand forex and this proved it. I had previously thought Emmanuel Major was good at Forex but the fact that they were illegally stealing ig.doust forex signals proved how illiterate they are.
3) This isn't a lie I am about to expose. Game changers have had to move away from Canada, and explore markets in different countries to scam. A guy named Mathew Fernandez, ig: mfernz57 left Kuvera first week of 2020(He joined Kuvera Mid-2018). He left with his entire team of 600+people preaching 'morals over money' due to all the lies, scamming, and brainwashing in Kuvera/game changers. Their name is tarnished across Toronto, Mississauga, Brampton and other cities in the Greater Toronto Area in Ontario.
4) Lily once lead a campaign showing how she made 10k Cad in one day of trading. Anyone who understood forex and saw her performance knew she was crazy. She was using insane leverage, she was doing this for months and months and would show how(on our leadership chats) on a regular day she would be a couple thousand in the negatives. Using the leverage she was, she was simply playing with her luck, well she did "win" 10k in 1 day. Well, I am here to expose this bullshit. Did you know she then went on to blow her entire account away literally a few days later.
5) Kuvera got a new owner in October 2019. A lot of people quit since then, teams in a whole country(Mexico, Japan, Singapore etc) all quit. I am not 100% sure but I believe the compensation plan was brutally changed. Also they had changed their titles on what they were earning, now Rakan Khalifa was a 100k/month earner and Mathew Fernandez was a 50k/month earner. Mathew Fernandez told us that he was getting paid 3k/month in reality. All this was just manipulation tactics. "I make upto 100k/month" is not a thing. Like who sets these caps to income? These were just manipulation tactics.
6) Now Anthony Napolitano (itzanthonynap) has a Forbes article on him. Well, unless you are Elon Musk, Forbes will not write on you. So how is this possible? Just go on fiver and search up "Get published on Forbes" and you can talk to a Forbes writer. When you have less money to spend, you buy the 300$ package to get published on forbesindia as Anthony did. You can get published on Forbes.com as well but you need $5k+. Why these articles are bullshit as when you search "Anthony napolitano", this article will never pop up as when Forbes legitimately writes on you, they post on social media and people actually go on it, therefore google recommends this article. As for Anthony's article, it will never pop up unless you search, "Anthony Napolitano Forbes" or directly get the link. The forbes article is simply to brag and further add to his manipulation tactics.
7) If you want more dirt on these guys, if i haven't provided enough. Here are some notable people who are ex-Kuvera members. They quit following Mathew Fernandez "morals over money" slogan. They are, Joshua Baril (ig: joshuanatsu) , rahaman waheed (ig: rahamanwaheed), and Basil Paul Varghese (basil_paul_varghese). They are now in a different company under Mathew Fernandez.
8) THE REASON THE SIGNALS DO NOT WORK: What these guys do is put TP 1 at 20 Pips, and TP3 at 100-200 Pips. But Stop loss will be at 200+ pips. So essentially, you are risking 20%+ of your account for 1 trade. Let’s say it hits TP1, and then hits SL. The result on their portfolio will be, ‘we hit TP1’. Pairs don’t just go in 1 direction in a straight line, it kind of goes up and down, and more so In a particular direction. So what I’m getting at is that they can never be wrong, because it’ll always hit TP1, due to a pairs roller coaster like movement. They’ll make stop losses really big, so by the time it gets there, it at least gets a few Pips in there favour and they’ll take that credit. Essentially a pair will either end of its movement being a sell, or a buy, and if they luckily got the right call, there portfolio will say, “caught 200+pips”, however you probably cashed out at 20 pips, in fear of it reversing. And when you keep getting 20 pips profits and after a couple, you actually hit a stop loss, there goes all your money. But there results will always be positive. It’s a genius scam. The worst part is, you can buy many many signals online, but all these signal chats, have the same trade signals fluctuating in all the group chats. It’s the exact same pairs, same numbers, everything, lol some don’t even change the emojis. These scammers make absurd amounts of money through their scams, hence allowing them a lavish, marketable lifestyle.
I have been writing this for an hour and I hope this helps you. Please Please, do not fall for their scam, I have lost sleep, been depressed, and lost enough money. I was doing around 20 hours DoorDash/week to fund forex and then lose it all. I would not have money for food. For months and months I survived on a 4$/day diet.
To end it off on a good note,i am doing a lot better financially and mentally.
I do not recommend Mathew Fernandez team as well. If you truly believe 'money over morals' why did you leave only when your pay got slapped.
I believe most of these guru's are full of shit and do not care about you, ex. Kevin David, one of the biggest online scammers, he has enough dirt on him online. YouTuber Coffeezilla has exposed most of these popular e-commerce, forex gurus.
If this does get viewed, get comments I will release more proof on Kuvera/Game changer's scam. I have a month or two of chat history in their leadership chats.

My journey growing my passive income: Forex copy trading

Dear passive_income redditors,
For years I searched ways to enable me to earn enough passive income to cover my daily expenses. I have tried literally everything online I could get my hands on, not all of them being 100% passive. Matched betting and value betting for example made me a couple of grand, but were about 10 minutes a day and were not scalable at all since I got limited very quickly. Crypto investing made me some good money, but also a lot of stress since it was the Wild west in comparison with traditional investing and days could turn out to double your investment or half your investment. Besides that I purchased a real estate property partly from my job earnings and partly from my crypto realized gains and am starting to rent it out (I know, we can debate whether real estate is passive, but that is not the intention of my post). Things that lost me money were dropshipping businesses, Facebook ads, and a lot of other silly stuff.

But I found a hidden gem to make passive income easily. Earlier this year, around March I came across copytrading within the Forex market. I started in April 2019 with a deposit of $5,000. Today, June 12th, it's worth $5,800+. On average I got a 7-8% return in April and May on my deposit. While this is immense, it's more conservative to aim for a return of around 5% a month.
The idea is as follows: you copy the trades a professional and profitable trader makes by automating the process using optimal software. You pay a monthly fee to cover for the traders' signals and connect a VPS to these two. I'm not a technical guy at all so I pay a legit business 25% of my net earnings to set it up for me and monitor it daily. They also fix your account when errors appear once in a while with the software. This way your accounts follows a masters' account managed by this professional trader and just copies his trades automatically. The traders you can choose from have historical track-records. The one I follow averaged about 6.7% compounded monthly since the start of his account in 2015. Resulting in a total gain of about 1850%-1900%. This is a 19x initial investment in 4 years. By using welcome deposit bonuses that different Forex brokers offer, you could double the gain or halve the risk (something I definitely do). This method is 100% passive and there is no chance of someone being able to access your money since the trader that provides the signals never has access to your account. Your funds are between you and the Forex broker you sign up with. So you are at control of your money 24/7 and able to close trades whenever you want as well (not optimal to do).
Is it too good to be true?
If you think this, I can't blame you. I always read these scams of Forex people on social media and I've experienced different ''too good to be true'' situations in my life. But remember, your capital can't never be accessed and these people have track records. In the 9-10 weeks I participated now, every week was profitable. Highest drawdown that occurred was about 6% (which is only virtual). So don't take it from me, but try it. Keep in mind that the only downside is with a 5% return and the monthly costs of 75EUR you have to have a capital of around $5,000 to start with to be able to make good returns and let it compound up.
TLDR: copied someones trades in the Forex market using automatisation software. Paid 75EUR a month and made 16% in 9 weeks without doing anything.

Copy Trading

Copy Trading

Introduction:

Copy trading is an extremely advanced method of capitalizing or trading in which a trader automatically duplicates the trades of a different trader that they believe to be successful. You allot money to a trader to copy trade, and then trades are copied by means of that allocation in the same amount as the trader. So if a trader uses 5% of their account balance to create a stock trade, your account will also make the same trade using 5% of the assets you allotted to that trader. The copied trader is also known as signal providers.
Numerous communal Forex and stock trading platforms nowadays offer the choice of copy trading. Copy-trading, as the title proposes lets you directly copy the positions taken by a different trader and join a part of your selection with theirs. By joining your profile to another trader, you copy all of their current spots on the trading market, and any action they make hereafter. If they win, you win and if they lose you also lose, and whatever is happening in their account is happening on your account as well.
The way copy trading is displayed can be extensively flexible on the platform you choose. Nevertheless, the basic standard remains the same as before. You capitalize a share of your portfolio in a specific trader and copy all their trades in a percentage. In the concern of modification, most sites will not allow you to capitalize more than 20% of your selection in the direction of a lone trader.

Is Copy Trading Popular?

Yes, copy trading is becoming progressively extra widespread because of the fact that it lets new traders earn money in forex trading. As a matter of fact, there are numerous traders who create the supposed portfolios. This can also mean that as a substitute for capitalizing in stocks or forex, they capitalize on other investors and don’t do trades themselves.
This is the reason why copy trading is becoming extensively popular and is getting more and more widespread. Another reason is that it is legit and legally performed by many rookies. It does have some other benefits as well making it good for someone who doesn’t have any experience in trading and also if a person doesn’t understand trading but wants to invest in it, that person can also use copy trading of some experienced trader definitely involving the risks.

What is Forex?

Forex is the short way of saying “Foreign Exchange”. This means the global market for exchanging international currencies, also known as the FX market. When someone prices or exchanges a currency against another, the exchange rate is best on the particular forex trading pair (i.e., both currencies involved in the pair).
Currency pairs are typically priced out to four decimal places, depending on the currency denomination, where one ten-thousandth of a unit of currency is known as a pip (i.e., 0.0001 unit), which is the smallest price increment (in addition to fractional-pips).
The EUUSD, which is the most widely-traded forex pair, is an example of the Euro (EUR) currency against the US dollars (USD) currency.
When trading one unit of EUUSD, you can calculate the price in USD (i.e., a price of EUUSD 1.3000 indicates $1.30 per euro). Conversely, when exchanging the USD/EUR, each unit of USD (i.e. each dollar) will have the prace of a specific number of euros (i.e., a USD/EUR price of 0.7700 indicates €0.77 per dollar).
A speculator expecting the price of the EUUSD to go up. He will buy the EUUSD pair long (buying a pair to open a trade can be a bullish or long position). Whereas, a speculator anticipating a drop in the price of the EUUSD may sell the pair. (bearish or short position: selling to open a trade).

Largest international market Globally

The forex market is decentralized across the globe. It consists of dealers such as central banks, private and public banks, non-bank intermediaries, brokerages, and large corporations such as insurance giants and other participants engaged in international finance.
The Foreign Exchange market is the largest globally, with nearly $6 trillion in average daily volume traded as of April 2019, according to the latest BIS Triennial Survey of Central Banks.
The FX market suffers the influence mainly by each government’s monetary policy, the supply, and demand of the global economy. As well as international trade agreements, and users and suppliers of currencies (hedgers), in addition to speculators.

Market integrity and progress

While there have been cases of forex market manipulation by the biggest banks and dealers in the past, the amount of influence any one entity can have on the prices of major currencies is negligible. This resistance to serious manipulation risk is due to the enormous amount of trading and resulting liquidity available.
The FX Market itself has high price integrity. Because it is an electronic market, efficient and with a certain size. Participants must still adhere to best practices.
Efforts such as the Global FX code were launched to encourage forex dealers to uphold the best-execution where the best price available is given to traders.
These efforts are why the spreads and trading commissions continued to improve over the years, as the FX market evolved. In addition, regulators have competed to increase local market integrity and efficiency by creating more strict regulations. These come from the top-tier financial centers such as the US, UK, Singapore, Japan, Australia, among other advanced economies.

Investing and trading in the forex market

As an asset class, Forex is well-established and offered by many regulated brokerages from within a margin account.
The use of leverage is what makes forex trading more risky than non-margin investing.
Margin-based trading used by investors as well as self-directed traders and fund managers, thanks to the range of risk-management tools available within forex trading platforms (mobile, web, and desktop software). Wiseinvest provides trading signals with risk-management.

Forex market research and analysis

There are two primary ways for traders to assess and identify trading opportunities in the forex market.

Advanced forex trading strategies and algorithms

The foundation of successful trading in the forex market is having a trading strategy. It’s based on a specific methodology that best suits your trading needs. Strategies could be manual, automated, or a combination of both.
Over the past decade, there has been a proliferation of automated trading strategies made available for retail traders.
And while there are many serious traders with established track records for their trading systems, there are many more low-quality trading systems falsely marketed as high-quality by overly eager affiliates, making it harder for investors to navigate the market for trading signals.
There has also been an increase in the social copy trade. Where an operator can mimic other operators’ businesses in real time.
Whether using a copy-trading platform or an automated trading system, in almost all cases, this type of investing is considered self-directed and doesn’t require a power-of-attorney or another third-party money manager to handle your account.
Unlike other copy and social trading platforms, Wiseinvet’s AI has the ability to execute a huge set of market data. It does by combining technical and fundamental analysis. This strategy can increase the accuracy of trading signals.

Self-directed forex investors

Compared to investing in a managed fund, there is greater responsibility. Traders put it on self-directed traders who use trading systems. A self-directed trader should conduct more detailed due diligence. It can avoid falling for the countless low-quality trading systems that exist on the internet.

There are no guarantees that a strategy will perform well. But conducting proper due diligence can help traders assess various trading systems. They consider using them to aid their trading or investment strategy.

Finding Trading Edges: Where to Get High R:R trades and Profit Potential of Them.

Finding Trading Edges: Where to Get High R:R trades and Profit Potential of Them.
TL;DR - I will try and flip an account from $50 or less to $1,000 over 2019. I will post all my account details so my strategy can be seen/copied. I will do this using only three or four trading setups. All of which are simple enough to learn. I will start trading on 10th January.
----
As I see it there are two mains ways to understand how to make money in the markets. The first is to know what the biggest winners in the markets are doing and duplicating what they do. This is hard. Most of the biggest players will not publicly tell people what they are doing. You need to be able to kinda slide in with them and see if you can pick up some info. Not suitable for most people, takes a lot of networking and even then you have to be able to make the correct inferences.
Another way is to know the most common trades of losing traders and then be on the other side of their common mistakes. This is usually far easier, usually everyone knows the mind of a losing trader. I learned about what losing traders do every day by being one of them for many years. I noticed I had an some sort of affinity for buying at the very top of moves and selling at the very bottom. This sucked, however, is was obvious there was winning trades on the other side of what I was doing and the adjustments to be a good trader were small (albeit, tricky).
Thus began the study for entries and maximum risk:reward. See, there have been times I have bought aiming for a 10 pip scalps and hit 100 pips stops loss. Hell, there have been times I was going for 5 pips and hit 100 stop out. This can seem discouraging, but it does mean there must be 1:10 risk:reward pay-off on the other side of these mistakes, and they were mistakes.
If you repeatedly enter and exit at the wrong times, you are making mistakes and probably the same ones over and over again. The market is tricking you! There are specific ways in which price moves that compel people to make these mistakes (I won’t go into this in this post, because it takes too long and this is going to be a long post anyway, but a lot of this is FOMO).
Making mistakes is okay. In fact, as I see it, making mistakes is an essential part of becoming an expert. Making a mistake enough times to understand intrinsically why it is a mistake and then make the required adjustments. Understanding at a deep level why you trade the way you do and why others make the mistakes they do, is an important part of becoming an expert in your chosen area of focus.
I could talk more on these concepts, but to keep the length of the post down, I will crack on to actual examples of trades I look for. Here are my three main criteria. I am looking for tops/bottoms of moves (edge entries). I am looking for 1:3 RR or more potential pay-offs. My strategy assumes that retail trades will lose most of the time. This seems a fair enough assumption. Without meaning to sound too crass about it, smart money will beat dumb money most of the time if the game is base on money. They just will.
So to summarize, I am looking for the points newbies get trapped in bad positions entering into moves too late. From these areas, I am looking for high RR entries.
Setup Examples.
I call this one the “Lightning Bolt correction”, but it is most commonly referred to as a “two leg correction”. I call it a “Lightning Bolt correction” because it looks a bit like one, and it zaps you. If you get it wrong.

https://preview.redd.it/t4whwijse2721.png?width=1326&format=png&auto=webp&s=c9050529c6e2472a3ff9f8e7137bd4a3ee5554cc
Once I see price making the first sell-off move and then begin to rally towards the highs again, I am waiting for a washout spike low. The common trades mistakes I am trading against here is them being too eager to buy into the trend too early and for the to get stopped out/reverse position when it looks like it is making another bearish breakout. Right at that point they panic … literally one candle under there is where I want to be getting in. I want to be buying their stop loss, essentially. “Oh, you don’t want that ...okay, I will have that!”
I need a precise entry. I want to use tiny stops (for big RR) so I need to be cute with entries. For this, I need entry rules. Not just arbitrarily buying the spike out. There are a few moving parts to this that are outside the scope of this post but one of my mains ways is using a fibs extension and looking for reversals just after the 1.61% level. How to draw the fibs is something else that is outside the scope of this but for one simple rule, they can be drawn on the failed new high leg.

https://preview.redd.it/2cd682kve2721.png?width=536&format=png&auto=webp&s=f4d081c9faff49d0976f9ffab260aaed2b570309
I am looking for a few specific things for a prime setup. Firstly, I am looking for the false hope candles, the ones that look like they will reverse the market and let those buying too early get out break-even or even at profit. In this case, you can see the hammer and engulfing candle off the 127 level, then it spikes low in that “stop-hunt” sort of style.
Secondly I want to see it trading just past my entry level (161 ext). This rule has come from nothing other than sheer volume. The amount of times I’ve been stopped out by 1 pip by that little sly final low has gave birth to this rule. I am looking for the market to trade under support in a manner that looks like a new strong breakout. When I see this, I am looking to get in with tiny stops, right under the lows. I will also be using smaller charts at this time and looking for reversal clusters of candles. Things like dojis, inverted hammers etc. These are great for sticking stops under.
Important note, when the lightning bolt correction fails to be a good entry, I expect to see another two legs down. I may look to sell into this area sometimes, and also be looking for buying on another couple legs down. It is important to note, though, when this does not work out, I expect there to be continued momentum that is enough to stop out and reasonable stop level for my entry. Which is why I want to cut quick. If a 10 pips stop will hit, usually a 30 pips stop will too. Bin it and look for the next opportunity at better RR.

https://preview.redd.it/mhkgy35ze2721.png?width=1155&format=png&auto=webp&s=a18278b85b10278603e5c9c80eb98df3e6878232
Another setup I am watching for is harmonic patterns, and I am using these as a multi-purpose indicator. When I see potentially harmonic patterns forming, I am using their completion level as take profits, I do not want to try and run though reversal patterns I can see forming hours ahead of time. I also use them for entering (similar rules of looking for specific entry criteria for small stops). Finally, I use them as a continuation pattern. If the harmonic pattern runs past the area it may have reversed from, there is a high probability that the market will continue to trend and very basic trend following strategies work well. I learned this from being too stubborn sticking with what I thought were harmonic reversals only to be ran over by a trend (seriously, everything I know I know from how it used to make me lose).

https://preview.redd.it/1ytz2431f2721.png?width=1322&format=png&auto=webp&s=983a7f2a91f9195004ad8a2aa2bb9d4d6f128937
A method of spotting these sorts of M/W harmonics is they tend to form after a second spike out leg never formed. When this happens, it gives me a really good idea of where my profit targets should be and where my next big breakout level is. It is worth noting, larger harmonics using have small harmonics inside them (on lower time-frames) and this can be used for dialling in optimum entries. I also use harmonics far more extensively in ranging markets. Where they tend to have higher win rates.
Next setup is the good old fashioned double bottoms/double top/one tick trap sort of setup. This comes in when the market is highly over extended. It has a small sell-off and rallies back to the highs before having a much larger sell-off. This is a more risky trade in that it sells into what looks like trending momentum and can be stopped out more. However, it also pays a high RR when it works, allowing for it to be ran at reduced risk and still be highly profitable when it comes through.

https://preview.redd.it/1bx83776f2721.png?width=587&format=png&auto=webp&s=2c76c3085598ae70f4142d26c46c8d6e9b1c2881
From these sorts of moves, I am always looking for a follow up buy if it forms a lightning bolt sort of setup.
All of these setups always offer 1:3 or better RR. If they do not, you are doing it wrong (and it will be your stop placement that is wrong). This is not to say the target is always 1:3+, sometimes it is best to lock in profits with training stops. It just means that every time you enter, you can potentially have a trade that runs for many times more than you risked. 1:10 RR can be hit in these sorts of setups sometimes. Paying you 20% for 2% risked.
I want to really stress here that what I am doing is trading against small traders mistakes. I am not trying to “beat the market maker”. I am not trying to reverse engineer J.P Morgan’s black boxes. I do not think I am smart enough to gain a worthwhile edge over these traders. They have more money, they have more data, they have better softwares … they are stronger. Me trying to “beat the market maker” is like me trying to beat up Mike Tyson. I might be able to kick him in the balls and feel smug for a few seconds. However, when he gets up, he is still Tyson and I am still me. I am still going to be pummeled.
I’ve seen some people that were fairly bright people going into training courses and coming out dumb as shit. Thinking they somehow are now going to dominate Goldman Sachs because they learned a chart pattern. Get a grip. For real, get a fucking grip. These buzz phrases are marketeering. Realististically, if you want to win in the markets, you need to have an edge over somebody.
I don’t have edges on the banks. If I could find one, they’d take it away from me. Edges work on inefficiencies in what others do that you can spot and they can not. I do not expect to out-think a banks analysis team. I know for damn sure I can out-think a version of me from 5 years ago … and I know there are enough of them in the markets. I look to trade against them. I just look to protect myself from the larger players so they can only hurt me in limited ways. Rather than letting them corner me and beat me to a pulp (in the form of me watching $1,000 drop off my equity because I moved a stop or something), I just let them kick me in the butt as I run away. It hurts a little, but I will be over it soon.
I believe using these principles, these three simple enough edge entry setups, selectiveness (remembering you are trading against the areas people make mistakes, wait for they areas) and measured aggression a person can make impressive compounded gains over a year. I will attempt to demonstrate this by taking an account of under $100 to over $1,000 in a year. I will use max 10% on risk on a position, the risk will scale down as the account size increases. In most cases, 5% risk per trade will be used, so I will be going for 10-20% or so profits. I will be looking only for prime opportunities, so few trades but hard hitting ones when I take them.
I will start trading around the 10th January. Set remind me if you want to follow along. I will also post my investor login details, so you can see the trades in my account in real time. Letting you see when I place my orders and how I manage running positions.
I also think these same principles can be tweaked in such a way it is possible to flip $50 or so into $1,000 in under a month. I’ve done $10 to $1,000 in three days before. This is far more complex in trade management, though. Making it hard to explain/understand and un-viable for many people to copy (it hedges, does not comply with FIFO, needs 1:500 leverage and also needs spreads under half a pip on EURUSD - not everyone can access all they things). I see all too often people act as if this can’t be done and everyone saying it is lying to sell you something. I do not sell signals. I do not sell training. I have no dog in this fight, I am just saying it can be done. There are people who do it. If you dismiss it as impossible; you will never be one of them.
If I try this 10 times with $50, I probably am more likely to make $1,000 ($500 profit) in a couple months than standard ideas would double $500 - I think I have better RR, even though I may go bust 5 or more times. I may also try to demonstrate this, but it is kinda just show-boating, quite honestly. When it works, it looks cool. When it does not, I can go bust in a single day (see example https://www.fxblue.com/users/redditmicroflip).
So I may or may not try and demonstrate this. All this is, is just taking good basic concepts and applying accelerated risk tactics to them and hitting a winning streak (of far less trades than you may think). Once you have good entries and RR optimization in place - there really is no reason why you can not scale these up to do what may people call impossible (without even trying it).
I know there are a lot of people who do not think these things are possible and tend to just troll whenever people talk about these things. There used to be a time when I’d try to explain why I thought the way I did … before I noticed they only cared about telling me why they were right and discussion was pointless. Therefore, when it comes to replies, I will reply to all comments that ask me a question regarding why I think this can be done, or why I done something that I done. If you are commenting just to tell me all the reasons you think I am wrong and you are right, I will probably not reply. I may well consider your points if they are good ones. I just do not entering into discussions with people who already know everything; it serves no purpose.

Edit: Addition.

I want to talk a bit more about using higher percentage of risk than usual. Firstly, let me say that there are good reasons for risk caps that people often cite as “musts”. There are reasons why 2% is considered optimum for a lot of strategies and there are reasons drawing down too much is a really bad thing.
Please do not be ignorant of this. Please do not assume I am, either. In previous work I done, I was selecting trading strategies that could be used for investment. When doing this, my only concern was drawdown metrics. These are essential for professional money management and they are also essential for personal long-term success in trading.
So please do not think I have not thought of these sorts of things Many of the reasons people say these things can’t work are basic 101 stuff anyone even remotely committed to learning about trading learns in their first 6 months. Trust me, I have thought about these concepts. I just never stopped thinking when I found out what public consensus was.
While these 101 rules make a lot of sense, it does not take away from the fact there are other betting strategies, and if you can know the approximate win rate and pay-off of trades, you can have other ways of deriving optimal bet sizes (risk per trade). Using Kelly Criterion, for example, if the pay-off is 1:3 and there is a 75% chance of winning, the optimal bet size is 62.5%. It would be a viable (high risk) strategy to have extremely filtered conditions that looked for just one perfect set up a month, makingover 150% if it was successful.
Let’s do some math on if you can pull that off three months in a row (using 150% gain, for easy math). Start $100. Month two starts $250. Month three $625. Month three ends $1,562. You have won three trades. Can you win three trades in a row under these conditions? I don’t know … but don’t assume no-one can.
This is extremely high risk, let’s scale it down to meet somewhere in the middle of the extremes. Let’s look at 10%. Same thing, 10% risk looking for ideal opportunities. Maybe trading once every week or so. 30% pay-off is you win. Let’s be realistic here, a lot of strategies can drawdown 10% using low risk without actually having had that good a chance to generate 30% gains in the trades it took to do so. It could be argued that trading seldomly but taking 5* the risk your “supposed” to take can be more risk efficient than many strategies people are using.
I am not saying that you should be doing these things with tens of thousands of dollars. I am not saying you should do these things as long term strategies. What I am saying is do not dismiss things out of hand just because they buck the “common knowns”. There are ways you can use more aggressive trading tactics to turn small sums of money into they $1,000s of dollars accounts that you exercise they stringent money management tactics on.
With all the above being said, you do have to actually understand to what extent you have an edge doing what you are doing. To do this, you should be using standard sorts of risks. Get the basics in place, just do not think you have to always be basic. Once you have good basics in place and actually make a bit of money, you can section off profits for higher risk versions of strategies. The basic concepts of money management are golden. For longevity and large funds; learned them and use them! Just don’t forget to think for yourself once you have done that.

Update -

Okay, I have thought this through a bit more and decided I don't want to post my live account investor login, because it has my full name and I do not know who any of you are. Instead, for copying/observing, I will give demo account login (since I can choose any name for a demo).
I will also copy onto a live account and have that tracked via Myfxbook.
I will do two versions. One will be FIFO compliant. It will trade only single trade positions. The other will not be FIFO compliant, it will open trades in batches. I will link up live account in a week or so. For now, if anyone wants to do BETA testing with the copy trader, you can do so with the following details (this is the non-FIFO compliant version).

Account tracking/copying details.

Low-Medium risk.
IC Markets MT4
Account number: 10307003
Investor PW: lGdMaRe6
Server: Demo:01
(Not FIFO compliant)

Valid and Invalid Complaints.
There are a few things that can pop up in copy trading. I am not a n00b when it comes to this, so I can somewhat forecast what these will be. I can kinda predict what sort of comments there may be. Some of these are valid points that if you raise I should (and will) reply to. Some are things outside of the scope of things I can influence, and as such, there is no point in me replying to. I will just cover them all here the one time.

Valid complains are if I do something dumb or dramatically outside of the strategy I have laid out here. won't do these, if I do, you can pitchfork ----E

Examples;

“Oi, idiot! You opened a trade randomly on a news spike. I got slipped 20 pips and it was a shit entry”.
Perfectly valid complaint.

“Why did you open a trade during swaps hours when the spread was 30 pips?”
Also valid.

“You left huge trades open running into the weekend and now I have serious gap paranoia!”
Definitely valid.

These are examples of me doing dumb stuff. If I do dumb stuff, it is fair enough people say things amounting to “Yo, that was dumb stuff”.

Invalid Complains;

“You bought EURUSD when it was clearly a sell!!!!”
Okay … you sell. No-one is asking you to copy my trades. I am not trading your strategy. Different positions make a market.

“You opened a position too big and I lost X%”.
No. Na uh. You copied a position too big. If you are using a trade copier, you can set maximum risk. If you neglect to do this, you are taking 100% risk. You have no valid compliant for losing. The act of copying and setting the risk settings is you selecting your risk. I am not responsible for your risk. I accept absolutely no liability for any losses.
*Suggested fix. Refer to risk control in copy trading software

“You lost X trades in a row at X% so I lost too much”.
Nope. You copied. See above. Anything relating to losing too much in trades (placed in liquid/standard market conditions) is entirely you. I can lose my money. Only you can set it up so you can lose yours. I do not have access to your account. Only mine.
*Suggested fix. Refer to risk control in copy trading software

“Price keeps trading close to the pending limit orders but not filling. Your account shows profits, but mine is not getting them”.
This is brokerage. I have no control over this. I use a strategy that aims for precision, and that means a pip here and there in brokerage spreads can make a difference. I am trading to profit from my trading conditions. I do not know, so can not account for, yours.
* Suggested fix. Compare the spread on your broker with the spread on mine. Adjust your orders accordingly. Buy limit orders will need to move up a little. Sell limit orders should not need adjusted.

“I got stopped out right before the market turned, I have a loss but your account shows a profit”.
This is brokerage. I have no control over this. I use a strategy that aims for precision, and that means a pip here and there differences in brokerage spreads can make a difference. I am trading to profit from my trading conditions. I do not know, so can not account for, yours.
** Suggested fix. Compare the spread on your broker with the spread on mine. Adjust your orders accordingly. Stop losses on sell orders will need to move up a bit. Stops on buy orders will be fine.

“Your trade got stopped out right before the market turned, if it was one more pip in the stop, it would have been a winner!!!”
Yeah. This happens. This is where the “risk” part of “risk:reward” comes in.

“Price traded close to take profit, yours filled but mines never”.
This is brokerage. I have no control over this. I use a strategy that aims for precision, and that means a pip here and there differences in brokerage spreads can make a difference. I am trading to profit from my trading conditions. I do not know, so can not account for, yours.
(Side note, this should not be an issue since when my trade closes, it should ping your account to close, too. You might get a couple less pips).
*** Suggested fix. Compare the spread on your broker with the spread on mine. Adjust your orders accordingly. Take profits on buys will need to move up a bit. Sell take profits will be fine.

“My brokers spread jumped to 20 during the New York session so the open trade made a bigger loss than it should”.
Your broker might just suck if this happens. This is brokerage. I have no control over this. My trades are placed to profit from my brokerage conditions. I do not know, so can not account for yours. Also, if accounting for random spread spikes like this was something I had to do, this strategy would not be a thing. It only works with fair brokerage conditions.
*Suggested fix. Do a bit of Googling and find out if you have a horrific broker. If so, fix that! A good search phrase is; “(Broker name) FPA reviews”.

“Price hit the stop loss but was going really fast and my stop got slipped X pips”.
This is brokerage. I have no control over this. I use a strategy that aims for precision, and that means a pip here and there differences in brokerage spreads can make a difference. I am trading to profit from my trading conditions. I do not know, so can not account for, yours.
If my trade also got slipped on the stop, I was slipped using ECN conditions with excellent execution; sometimes slips just happen. I am doing the most I can to prevent them, but it is a fact of liquidity that sometimes we get slipped (slippage can also work in our favor, paying us more than the take profit would have been).

“Orders you placed failed to execute on my account because they were too large”.
This is brokerage. I have no control over this. Margin requirements vary. I have 1:500 leverage available. I will not always be using it, but I can. If you can’t, this will make a difference.

“Your account is making profits trading things my broker does not have”
I have a full range of assets to trade with the broker I use. Included Forex, indices, commodities and cryptocurrencies. I may or may not use the extent of these options. I can not account for your brokerage conditions.

I think I have covered most of the common ones here. There are some general rules of thumb, though. Basically, if I do something that is dumb and would have a high probability of losing on any broker traded on, this is a valid complain.

Anything that pertains to risk taken in standard trading conditions is under your control.

Also, anything at all that pertains to brokerage variance there is nothing I can do, other than fully brief you on what to expect up-front. Since I am taking the time to do this, I won’t be a punchbag for anything that happens later pertaining to this.

I am not using an elitist broker. You don’t need $50,000 to open an account, it is only $200. It is accessible to most people - brokerage conditions akin to what I am using are absolutely available to anyone in the UK/Europe/Asia (North America, I am not so up on, so can’t say). With the broker I use, and with others. If you do not take the time to make sure you are trading with a good broker, there is nothing I can do about how that affects your trades.

I am using an A book broker, if you are using B book; it will almost certainly be worse results. You have bad costs. You are essentially buying from reseller and paying a mark-up. (A/B book AKA ECN/Market maker; learn about this here). My EURUSD spread will typically be 0.02 pips or so, if yours is 1 pip, this is a huge difference.
These are typical spreads I am working on.

https://preview.redd.it/yc2c4jfpab721.png?width=597&format=png&auto=webp&s=c377686b2485e13171318c9861f42faf325437e1

Check the full range of spreads on Forex, commodities, indices and crypto.

Please understand I want nothing from you if you benefit from this, but I am also due you nothing if you lose. My only term of offering this is that people do not moan at me if they lose money.

I have been fully upfront saying this is geared towards higher risk. I have provided information and tools for you to take control over this. If I do lose people’s money and I know that, I honestly will feel a bit sad about it. However, if you complain about it, all I will say is “I told you that might happen”, because, I am telling you that might happen.

Make clear headed assessments of how much money you can afford to risk, and use these when making your decisions. They are yours to make, and not my responsibility.

Update.

Crazy Kelly Compounding: $100 - $11,000 in 6 Trades.

$100 to $11,000 in 6 trades? Is it a scam? Is it a gamble? … No, it’s maths.

Common sense risk disclaimer: Don’t be a dick! Don’t risk money you can’t afford to lose. Do not risk money doing these things until you can show a regular profit on low risk.
Let’s talk about Crazy Kelly Compounding (CKC). Kelly criterion is a method for selecting optimal bet sizes if the odds and win rate are known (in other words, once you have worked out how to create and assess your edge). You can Google to learn about it in detail. The formula for Kelly criterion is;
((odds-1) * (percentage estimate)) - (1-percent estimate) / (odds-1) X 100
Now let’s say you can filter down a strategy to have a 80% win rate. It trades very rarely, but it had a very high success rate when it does. Let’s say you get 1:2 RR on that trade. Kelly would give you an optimum bet size of about 60% here. So if you win, you win 120%. Losing three trades in a row will bust you. You can still recover from anything less than that, fairly easily with a couple winning trades.
This is where CKC comes in. What if you could string some of these wins together, compounding the gains (so you were risking 60% each time)? What if you could pull off 6 trades in a row doing this?
Here is the math;

https://preview.redd.it/u3u6teqd7c721.png?width=606&format=png&auto=webp&s=3b958747b37b68ec2a769a8368b5cbebfe0e97ff
This shows years, substitute years for trades. 6 trades returns $11,338! This can be done. The question really is if you are able to dial in good enough entries, filter out enough sub-par trades and have the guts to pull the trigger when the time is right. Obviously you need to be willing to take the hit, obviously that hit gets bigger each time you go for it, but the reward to risk ratio is pretty decent if you can afford to lose the money.
We could maybe set something up to do this on cent brokers. So people can do it literally risking a couple dollars. I’d have to check to see if there was suitable spreads etc offered on them, though. They can be kinda icky.
Now listen, I am serious … don’t be a dick. Don’t rush out next week trying to retire by the weekend. What I am showing you is the EXTRA rewards that come with being able to produce good solid results and being able to section off some money for high risk “all or nothing” attempts; using your proven strategies.
I am not saying anyone can open 6 trades and make $11,000 … that is rather improbable. What I am saying is once you can get the strategy side right, and you can know your numbers; then you can use the numbers to see where the limits actually are, how fast your strategy can really go.
This CKC concept is not intended to inspire you to be reckless in trading, it is intended to inspire you to put focus on learning the core skills I am telling you that are behind being able to do this.

The team posted their results for Q1 2019 profits in this article:
Some more info on revenue:
Firstly, I am not part of the team, so any replies are just from research I have done into the project and available information:
1.) The team confirmed that there are 40 people working for Genesis Vision 25 are working in the office and 15 remotely. Jump in the TG if you would like to know more info or even talk to some of the other team members direct. Dmitry Nazarov = CEO, Ruslan Kamensky = Head of Development. (You can do your background research on these guys, they've got skills).
2.) Can't comment accurately on funds, because well, that's the teams business. Ofc a responsible investor should try and find out as much info as they can however.
  • The ICO raised -> $2,836,724 when ETH was around $250-$300 pre-bull run (you do the math).
  • The team/development tokens also amounted to 709,862 GVT/16% of the supply, these funds would/will have been used for development, these were locked for 1 year and released approx October 2018
3.) Sustainability is a big one. This is why I continue to follow GVT daily because I believe the Genesis Vision model is sustainable. See my previous post:
https://www.reddit.com/genesisvision/comments/9p80igenesis_vision_will_soon_become_a_self_sufficient/
TLDR - Here's how they will create revenue from the GV platform (taken from the whitepaper):
  • The project will receive profit from commissions on investment operations. Each investment will be charged 0.5%³ of the operation amount.
  • The project will also generate profit from managing its own fund and by investing it in successful managers of our platform.
  • Genesis Markets will create revenue from trading fees
Another thing to think about - The team have been extremely responsible with their funds. Zero funds have gone to waste and have been used in the most efficient way possible. One example (although a touchy subject) is marketing. The bottom line is marketing will ramp up when the project/platform has had more development (finishing integrating the brokers + additional features). The team have known that the correct time to market the platform is coming, just not yet... Obviously if they had 100's of millions from the ICO marketing would have been ongoing from Day 1. This is one example of being responsible with your investors/ICO funds.

Shorting Noobs - Common Trend Following Mistakes I'm Trading Against.

Shorting Noobs - Common Trend Following Mistakes I'm Trading Against.
Part [1] [2] [3]

Not much in terms of adjustments to add from previous post. I'm going to implement all risk adjustments at the weekend. In the meantime I've used some manual hedging to prevent from over exposure.
In this post I'll talk more about the ideal trades I am looking for. The mistakes people make at these areas, and how to build forward looking trade plans so you are less likely to find yourself caught in one of these market traps. I do consider these to be traps. I think price routinely moves in ways that induce market participants to take losing positions. I think this is done in algorithmic fashion and this means it leaves clues in forms of recurring ways laying traps.
This is just an opinion. I don't know.

First we will examine the classic structure of a trend. All examples will use a downtrend.

Basic Recurring Trend Structure:

Basic Trend Structure

Most of you will have seen this before, and probably recognise it as Elliot Wave theory (EWT). Whether or not you think EWT is valid or not, there are some things I think all of us can agree on. That is for the market to be in a downtrend, it has to keep making new lows. If it doesn't, it's not in a downtrend anymore. You'll also probably agree there are retraces in moves. That not often are new lows consistently made without any retrace. In a broad sense, this is all EWT is describing, which makes it noteworthy in good trending conditions.

Here are the points where most mistakes are made by traders in EWT cycles.

Trend Best/Worst Entries

All areas marked off in orange are places where it's easy to make mistakes.

Looking closer, this is what the more detailed price action on these sorts of moves tend to look like on lower timeframes.

Detailed Best/Worst Entries

Brown boxes are where buying mistakes are made. Purple circles are where selling mistakes are made.
We'll look a bit closer at what the specific mistakes are usually based on (conventional technical analysis theories) soon. First here is an example of this on a real AUDUSD chart.

AUDUSD Example Chart
This is a 45 minute chart, so the swings are not as detailed as the ones I've drawn (mine are more like 15 min), but you should be able to see how this concept can be transferred over onto a real chart. All of us who have been trading for a while know there are times we have made these mistakes. Everyone has ended up selling the bottom pip, or getting stopped out right before it reversed. Many of these times (in a trending market) fit into these areas.
This is not just curve fitting. Using rules to help to describe these conditions to pick the best trades and trading against the trades strategy providers offer, I picked up these trades. This was not perfect, what I'm doing needs a lot of work.

AUDUSD Trade

Here we can see a couple few of the mistakes. The green lines are profits and orange lines are losses. Here shorting these mistakes has done quite well on the spike out low. It's hard to see, but it also got a lot of good buys at the low. There are some losses at the high, but there is a far larger position accumulated around the mistake level.

AUDUSD Result
See previous analysis on these trades in [2] [3]
A big trend leg followed this build up of positions and hit take profits where stops were set under the low. This is where people start to sell, but this is also usually a mistake to sell immediately after this breakout.

The types of mistakes made are due to a handful of concepts. Here I've numbered them.

Mistake Types
Rules/Rational people have in mind making these mistakes.

1 - Breakout/new high relative to recent leg / stops above previous high on sell/ previous low on buy.
2 - Single candle price action mistake.
3 - Breakout trading rushing in / stops go under recent supports/ over recent resistance.
4 - Break and retest.
5 - Deep correction.

Everything listed above has the potential to be very useful and valid in a technical analysis based strategy. However, in some contexts they are literally the very worst thing you can do. That's the thing about trading, you can do the same thing at different times and get wildly different results. What I'm trying to do here is not find people who lose every trade (I want them to win overall, actually. So I can keep copying them). I just want to work out ways to bet against mistakes they are likely to make. I think people will make these mistakes more reliably than an automated system will pick up trades.
I should add that most of these areas the mistakes happen at will be hit with a lot of velocity. This I think is what triggers the mistakes from so many impulsive traders. The market will amble along in a slow non-threatening / uninteresting sort of way, then suddenly all in a rush make these moves that imply something BIG is happening in a certain direction, when actually it's just about to move against these very positions if you take them. Velocity is one of my key filters.

Let's talk about the end of the two leg correction, this is one of the places I think most of the money is made and lost. At this point in an EWT cycle, the market is gearing up to enter it's strongest move. The best move to trade, and the smart market is going to need to get people on the wrong side. This is usually achieved with three things. One, the market makes it's first false reversal from a 50% retrace, and then moves with a lot of velocity into the 61.8% fib (briefly described in [2]). Then there's a second false breakout with price trading a little over the 61.8%, followed by a price crash into new lows.
The interesting thing about this move is if you speak to anyone with any sort of interest in EWT, they will tell you this move often completes with a news spike. There is positive news, the market moves quickly in the direction it "should" and then quickly makes a rapid reversal. Sometimes the move on the news makes absolutely no sense what-so-ever fundamentally. but does strike these areas.
Here is the Brexit chart.
Brexit trend continuation from 61.8% spike out pattern

Let's go further back.

Scotland Vote High
Here is where GBP made it's high point. This was after the fantastic fundamental news (apparently) that Scotland was staying in the UK. Price shot up, then began to heavily downtrend. I've marked in the start to the previous swing with a line, if you check these fibs you'll see it fits with the mistake. We are now in the part of cycle where GBP is aggressive pulling away from the range where the false reversals happened. This is punishing those who bought in this range, and we should expect to see it end in a violent spike down. Remember the people who thought buying Sterling after Brexit was free money? Nah uh.
This happens a lot. When it happens I see people trying to explain it with all sorts of theories. Usually involving the saying "priced in already". People often refer to these in aloof and vague ways, as if there was no way we could have ever known, and it's certainly not worth trying to forecast these sorts of things ... but next time you see this, have a quick check and see if we happened to be in a correction that spiked out a 50% high and reversed around 61.8%. It is wiser to look at what happened than take wild guesses as to why. I am not saying that it always it, nor am I saying it works like magic. I'm just saying it can be quantified. When someone says, "Well you see it was not what was said, or the number, but what was inferred ...", really means nothing. It's an opinion. We're better to look for things we can test, in my view at least.

So, let me talk you through the mental mindset of people when they're making these mistakes. I'm going to use this big Sterling chart, so this will also be a bit of a price forecast.

Mistakes Thinking Patterns.
1 - Price has been going up strongly, it's retraced and there is a single candle PA buy signal. Sets people up to take a horrible trade.
2 - Price has been falling hard and made yet another breakout, it's an easy sell ...
3 - This has fell too far, it's a reversal now. Look how strong it is.
4 - This is a strong breakout and this must be the start of a bigger move.
5 - Wow, it's broke the lows and look how hard it's falling, big sell time.

I think we will see stage 5 complete around 1.190. I think we may be due a fast move into this. Maybe in the coming week or two. It would be typical of the spike nature of end of this sort of move that this will be a single candle of over 150 pips that fills this. Being and holding GBPUSD shorts targeting 1.196 seems a great idea to me.

These five mistakes, made at these handful of areas are the ones I wanting to trade against, and if you'd like to be a profitable trader, are the places you should be looking for entries.

Crypto attorney Adam S. Tracy explains CFTC and commodities law compliance requirements for cryptocurrency trade signal providers

Transcribed from: https://tracyfirm.com/trade-signal-provide
Do part two of… I’m a trade signal provider is what I’m doing legal? I’ve already answered the question as it relates to securities, and the Investment Advisor Act and how that may not apply in the exemptions there too, so check out my previous video. This one’s going to deal with the commodities end of it, which I think is a little more relevant to your trade signal providers. If you’re… come from the forex world, trade signal copy trading, as some people call it. Especially in the UK, it’s a lot more prevalent in the commodities space than it is in the security space. I think it’s more relevant in the legal environment that we’re in today to sort of attack this question from the commodities elements.
The fundamental question as it relates to trade single providers in the commodities arena is, “Do I have to or am I acting as a commodity trading advisor? If so, do I have to register under the commodities exchange act as a commodity trading advisor?” Let’s get to the definition of what a commodity trading advisor is, and I’ll read it, “Any person who for compensation or profit engages in the business of advising others either directly or through publications or writings as to the value of commodities or the advisability,” Key point there, “Of trading in any commodity.” Okay? That is the definition of a commodity trading advisor.
Right there, when you think of what a trade signal provider does, you fall under that definition. Because you are in theory, you are in theory advising as to the trade opportunities or the trading, the decision to buy or sell a particular commodity. The fundamental question is are we actu… like it was with the securities world, are we dealing with commodity?
Here we have a little more clarity. We have more clarity because there’s been decisions, and the coin flip decision. The coin flip court decision that virtual currencies a.k.a bitcoin and ethereum are in fact commodities, we’ve seen this more recently and there’s been some follow on court decisions which have reaffirmed this. Bitcoin, I think without question, is a commodity, so is ethereum. I think arguably all of your currency type coins, your coins really, for lack of… as opposed to tokens, are commodities, and will ultimately be codified to be commodities.
Assuming that we’re dealing with bitcoin in a theory in which you see the most in the crypto space, most of your trade signal providers are dealing with bitcoin, and to a lesser extent, ethereum. Are you acting as a commodity trading advisor? Well, I would say by definition, you absolutely are. You absolutely are because you’re providing, again, you’re advising us to the trading of a commodity, which in this case is the bitcoin or the ethereum.
The question becomes, “How do I avoid registration?” Like registration as a commodity trading advisor is cumbersome. You have the NFA, you have the CFTC, you have licensing requirements, it’s an entire thing, and you probably don’t want to do it, and most trading signal providers don’t do it. They don’t do it because there’s an exemption. There’s an exemption from that. That exemption is twofold.
Number one, directing… the trade single provider cannot be A, directing client accounts, okay? And providing commodity trading advice, tailored, keyword, tailored to a specific client. Directing client accounts, refers to authorization. It refers to control. You cannot be in control of somebody’s account, right? Like if somebody… I’ve done another video go back and look at it, manage crypto waltz. There’s an element of control in there, someone is like seeding control seeding de facto trading authority over that account. You can’t do that if you’re going to be exempt from commodity trading advisor registration.
Two, much like we saw in the securities world with the Investment Advisor Act registration, the trade signals can’t be tailored to a particular client. You can’t be in the business of portfolio management. Again, think of like your CFP. Think of your financial planners who plan your portfolio or providing specific tailored advice to you, to a particular client. You can provide general trade signals out to your client base. You can charge for it, but you can’t tailor. You can’t get specific as to any one particular client.
If you’re not in control of their account, and you’re not providing specific tailored advice to a particular client, then while you may in fact be acting as… meet the definition of a commodity trading advisor, which I would say you would, especially with bitcoin and ethereum cause they’re commodities. I think that’s pretty fair to say. You’re exempt from CTA registration under that exemption that we just discussed.
It’s much like, comparing it and drawing back to my last video, talking about Investment Advisor Act in the securities world. It’s one, it’s always goes down to control. You can’t control the account. You can’t have like trading authorization over the account and two those trade signals have to be general in nature. They can be very specific as to the buy and sell, the specific signal that you’re indicating. As the specific market turn that you’re generating the signal off of, that’s fine. That’s totally fine, but what isn’t fine is if you’re going client by client and saying, “Based on your investment profile, here’s the signals that you should receive. Here’s the trades that you should make based on that.” You sort of have to dictate to the masses as opposed to one or more clients.
Now there’s another exemption if you do it for less than 15 people. Maybe you have some valid clients, and we can get to that in another video, but the main lesson here, is tailoring that specific trade signal set to one or more clients at a time, and being unique with that. If you have questions, definitely hit me up. My information’s below. Visit me [email protected] T-R-A-C-Y firm.com, check you later.

  • The team/development tokens also amounted to 709,862 GVT/16% of the supply, these funds would/will have been used for development, and remember GVT's ATH was $51 - So if they sold anywhere near this top then there's some hefty funds right there, albeit some are actual team tokens.
This is one example of being responsible with your investors/ICO funds.

Shorting Noob - Series Round Up

Shorting Noob - Series Round Up
This will be my last post on this series in the sub on Shorting Noobs. It'll just be a quick fact based post with simple round up. I've explained here why I am leaving.
Part [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6] [7]

1 - I've backed up everything I say by showing what I do.

I've never used retroactive curve fitting or mere hypothetical. I forecast. I executed. I reported.

2 - 90 - 95% of the time I've been entirely correct in market predictions/signals.

This is not a bold claim, or a claim at all. The posts are there, the truth is there.

3 - I've never used double talk or fluff.

"Well you see it can go up if there is this, but then if there is this it will go down. So you see, we can be almost certain it will move (that's deep dude). There will be interesting scalping opportunities."

What the fuck? Repeat after me ... "Dunno. Could go either way". Equally interesting answer. I never do this. I give decimal place specifics. This is exactly where I engage, and I look for exactly this action. This is my plan.

4 - I've won trades that are against what the mood this sub was when I entered.

I shorted the peacocks. I won. Draw your own conclusions.

5 - I've tried my best to help you understand why.

I call out the mistake as it happens. I explain it before it happens. I post the counter signal. I document it all after explaining how.

In previous posts I've taken great time and attention to provide step by step evidence and source links to back up everything I've said. These are facts. I'm not going to defend them, you can check and decide for yourself.

Instead of the usual high effort/hard work posts I've done before, I'll just end this one with some parting messages.

To those who have enjoyed and engaged. Thank you. You've helped me to understand better how my thoughts on these things relate to other people's. Your questions and perspectives have helped me improve. I'm grateful to you.

To those who'd call themselves sceptics, assess the data. Otherwise you can keep calling yourself a sceptic, but you're not.
Part [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6] [7]

To those cynics who want to tell me how stupid I am, kindly do make me aware if you start a copy trading service.

And we'll finish with a montage of pictures I'd have been as well to post as the ones I've spent hours and hours creating to demonstrate things to those of you who are arrogant, ignorant but sadly, loud ...

Round Ups and Updates: Trades, Strategies and Results.

Hi, I want to do a post to sort of round up and bring together everything I have been talking about over the last week(s). I know it may seem I have been jumping from one thing to another, but it is not dumping one idea and moving onto the next. It is plate spinning. I will do them all, just working on getting them all running concurrently.

Housekeeping

First, a bit of housekeeping. For those of you who are not here because you want to be part of a community that is actively focused on profiting from the Forex market, and talking about the real ways of doing that, based on results; the time really has come for you to leave. I am not booting you. You just will not like it here. That is what this group is going to be about. How to generate profits. There are some "Forex traders" here that seem to think that a dirty word, you will find yourself better company somewhere else. That is going to be the focus of this sub.

Secondly, for those of you who seem to be here to tell me my strategies do not work ... I was not asking! Especially if you openly admit you have not tried them. I am sure standing 1,000 miles away from a chart and calling it "tea leafs" this stuff will not work well at all. I have not tried that, personally, but it does seem it would be unprofitable. So I get it does not work, for you. I asses if it works for me by if it makes money or not. If the market starts to tell me it does not work, then I will adjust it. You're like people living in a desert telling an Eskimo there is no usefulness in ice. You have not done the work, and refuse to suspend prejudice to asses results ... of course it does "not work".

I am only showing people what I do. Via ForexCopy, you can copy my trades if you want. If you ask me questions about what I do, I will gladly help you understand it. However, this is entirely contingent upon you having tried it out yourself (and me being able to tell that from you asking targeted questions). I can only show you what I do. Until you do it, you can not know it like I do. When you are doing it, I will then help you.

Trading

Okay, onto more useful and practical things. Let's talk trading.

Last week went well. I will do another post rounding up the analysis posts and all that stuff.

We sorted out issues we had in week one on live copier testing. From the open of the week to the close the account went from around $50 to about $72.

https://preview.redd.it/da3vugz7qcb21.png?width=876&format=png&auto=webp&s=aa73f605b98293fd4e12139b50867fc1767838f7
These stats are fuzzed a bit, since it is starting from a DD point (from last week). The actual gain here was closer to 40% or so. The actual draw-down probably more like 7%.

https://preview.redd.it/5vxt50ufqcb21.png?width=852&format=png&auto=webp&s=a2135aa0cf72c6d9792d8a1dbf34d8b6fbf93b09

You can see the trades here. Loses tended to come in couples adding up to about 5%. There was not a strong of losses incurring 16% draw-down.

$2 Flip Challenge.
See first
https://www.reddit.com/Forexnoobs/comments/agsnmm/40_1000_flip_challenge_update/

This is on! I busted a few times. First about $2 deposit. Then $1 twice. Then starting from $2 again I got up to $5, and closed the week at $5. $5 give me several chances to catch a decent trade next week. Depending on market conditions, I may look to scalp small profits to bankroll if it is ranging and not flowing much. However, if it is trending, I will look ofr ways to position and then use equity profits to build a larger position (at the same starting risk) and look to flip $1 risk into $10 to $20 +. From there, things will be much easier. I can then just link this with one of the copier strategies and see how much it can be compounded. If we reach $5,000, I will bank $4,000, and then we can look at doing something far more ambitious.

I've re-pinned the Myfxbook to start on Friday (since this is the first day getting above minimum viable margin)
http://www.myfxbook.com/members/inweedwetrust/40-1000/2893650
(Myfxbook on it is strange at the moment, showing it floating down in equity, but it is not. All trades are closed. I am sure this will fix itself within a few pings in the starting week).

Copy Trading

Copy trading is ready for a soft launch. Things are running well on current copying accounts and we can add some more.
The first one will be a simple strategy, the main aim of this is for it to be broker flexible. So it can be used by a variety of people. Also to be non tome consuming, and not requiring VPS to run.

As well as having the option to copy this strategy, you can also use it just as a signals service. Checking if there are orders placed and then placing the same ones manually, if you want. Please understand any trades taken under any form are entirely your decision to make. I accept no liability for loss.

You can read about this strategy in full here https://www.reddit.com/ForexCopy/comments/agrttm/simple_trend_signals_strategy/

For this week, we will stick with just this one. This is easy, and low maintenance and it will give us another week of making sure everything works well in the more complex strategies.

If you are copying/using signals from this strategy, it would be very helpful for me if you can set up a Myfxbook for tracking the results. Please let me know if you do that. Send me a message (message, rather than chat. I tend to miss a lot of chats). Or post the link here.

Through the next week (maybe even all over the weekend), I will publish the other strategy plans. We will not be using them this week, it is just prep for what we will be using going forward presuming week 3 of live testing goes well.

Asset Management Competition

See first
https://www.reddit.com/Forexnoobs/comments/aezw0t/asset_management_competition/

I will start tracking an account for this starting on Monday. No-one else has said they want to take part in this, which is sad. However, I will still do it and provide the benchmark strategy. If others do start to get involved and they are showing reasonable results, I will start to look for someone to sponsor it. Should be able to get those who do well over a year or so at least $50,000 or so in investment for them to test out their wings in real asset management.

TIL: The latest ponzi scheme - PIPcoin

Well today was interesting. After seeing a ton of people trying to spam their referral links into some of the big Facebook groups we run at work, I decided to investigate a bit more after dinner & a couple of glassses of wine.
Let me introduce you to PIPcoin. (for those like me who missed it when it last came up on the sub)
PIPcoin from the horses mouth
PIPcoin's CEO on SABC
One of his "free" seminars.
Here is a quick recording off their homepage :-(
Pipcoin is Africa’s first P2P Cryptocurrency and is more seen as an emerging digital currency that seeks to revolutionize accessibility and raise awareness about the importance of online trading to the multitudes of both the aspirant traders and those who are completely unaware of the abounding benefits and opportunities offered by the digital market. Thus, for all its worth as a potential life-changing tool, we want Pipcoin to be everybody’s business.
So this is new... lets take a look at their FAQ's because I have many! here are my favourite bits:
What Is The Structure Of A Pipcoin? Pipcoin Concept (for developers) -IF YOU HAVE 0,9999 MICRO-PIPS THEN IT WILL BE ROUNDED OFF TO 1.0000 – MAKING IT 1 PIPCOIN-
lol really? Where does that extra micro tit pip come from?
Why Pipcoin Isnt A Get Rich Quick Scheme Whenever there is a new digital breakthrough it is natural for people to be sceptic, this has been scientifically proven. Even at one stage the internet was said to be a scam, same goes to online trading, they said it won’t last. Same goes to Facebook; they said it’s an information-leaking scam. Same goes again to Bitcoin they said it’s a ‘failed experiment’. Pipcoin is the people’s currency and can never in a scale be compared to ponzi schemes and investment bonanzas; Pipcoin is a friend-to-friend digital currency which has its own crypto keys and public ledger just like any other legit digital currency. Everyone is a host to the currency, every participants’ computers serve as servers to the system and just like forex trading it is a zero-sum game, when you buy the coins there will be someone selling to you.
SkepticalHippoIsSkeptical.jpg
Who Is The Founder Of Pipcoin? However the inception of the idea can be credited to David Schwartz and the inception of the algorithm and mathematics behind to Ref Wayne, a 21 year old South African who is behind the creation of most high-tech forensic software as well as the indicators for financial trading platform (Forex Metatrader), it is without chance that the creation of Pipcoin is water-proof and crack-free.
Aside from the laughable wording, this is perhaps the most interesting part. If you can make it through this interview or this video his story sounds a lot like this "David Schwartz" story here. Excuse the popups but give it a read and obviously the comments at the bottom.
Is Pipcoin Legal? ...After all, there is no authority that can stop anyone from buying and selling a product online.
hahahahahahahahAHAHAha!
Do I Need To Provide Any Id Documents To Join Pipcoin is a cryptocurrency which means it’s completely encrypted, even for its users, it remains completely confidential. You don’t need to submit any documents.
erm... surely this goes against SO many laws in SA?
How Reliable Is This Website In Terms Of Security And Keeping Personal Data And Pipcoins [no ? at the end of these ones for some reason] We pay great attention to security and the confidential information on the website is protected by EV SSL. We don’t divulge any personal data of members to third parties. Your participation too, is strictly confidential.
thats...not really explaining it at all. SSL isnt the be-all and end all - but oh there's another one right below. Im sure that'll clear it up...
Are You Protected From Hackers We have installed power Anti-DDOS protection on our servers and have many other security measures.
well that settles it.
ok ok so whats next?
Some points/gems from their Terms of User PDF [mirror here] (i've never heard that phrase) but looks like something from the lawfirm of Copy, Pasta and Google.
All references to the ‘company,’ ‘us,’ ‘our,’ ‘we’ or ‘Pipchain’ means Pipchain South Africa S.a.r.l., a company registered under the laws of South Africa, with a share capital of EUR 55,222.08, having its registered address at L-2340 South Africa, 1, rue Philippe II, registered with the South Africa Trade and Companies Register under number B 190.078 (Business License number B190078).
I tried to find out if thats real but I couldnt figure out how to do it via the new http://www.cipc.co.za/ site.
Their privacy policy link https://pipchain.com/PrivacyPolicy.pdf 404's
Typos galore eg - " Server failure ordata loss;"
We make no warranty that the Website or the server that makes it available, are free of viruses or errors, that its content is accurate, that it will be uninterrupted, or that defects will be corrected.
wut?!
  1. AGREEMENT TO HOLD PIPCHAIN HARMLESS
wut2
7.2. If you are obligated to indemnify us, we will have the right, in our sole discretion, to control any action or proceeding (at our expense) and determine whether we wish to settle it.
ok...
9.1. You need not use a Pipchain Wallet. If you wish to use the Wallet, you must create a wallet with Pipchain to access the Services (“Wallet”)
I need an adult.
10.5. No Storage or Transmission of Pipcoins. Pipcoins are an intangible, digital asset. They exist only by virtue of the ownership record maintained in the Pipcoin network. The Services do not store, send or receive Pipcoins. Any transfer of title that might occur in any Pipcoins occurs on the decentralized ledger within the Pipcoin network and not within the Services. We do not guarantee that the Service can effect the transfer of title or right in any Pipcoins.
and
10.8. No Cancellations or Modifications. Once transaction details have been submitted to the Pipcoin network via the Services, The Services cannot assist you to cancel or otherwise modify your transaction details. Pipchain has no control over the Pipcoin Network and does not have the ability to facilitate any cancellation or modification requests.
In the SABC interview (linked at the top of this post) the CEO says he took bitcoin and 'modified' it to be safer and so you can track 'stolen or lost' coins. So thats a lie.
  1. DISCONTINUANCE OF SERVICES 15.1. We may, in our sole discretion and without cost to you, with or without prior notice and at any time, modify or discontinue, temporarily or permanently, any portion of our Services. You are solely responsible for storing, outside of the Services, a backup of any Wallet Address and Private Key pair that you maintain in your Wallet.
erm, ok but because PIPcoins can only be traded on their website and not transferred to anything else... how does that work?
17.1.3. Use any robot, spider, crawler, scraper or other automated means or interface not provided by us to access our Services or to extract data; 17.1.4. Use or attempt to use another user’s Wallet without authorization
the enter key is a hard one to find on a laptop I'll give them that one...
---- gets more wine ---
They claim to have a 30-35% growth rate on any and all investments! Crazy returns.
I did a bit of a google on them and immediately found these posts.
Some choice excerpts:
The company has promised that it will soon be issuing a debit card. Promising to issue a debit is an old trick used by fraudulent companies to create a false sense of trust and legitimacy to unsuspecting investors.
and
The transfer of pipcoins is verified by one sources, instead of 3 independent source as is usually the case with legitimate crypto currencies with a blockchain.
and
They also use wording similar to ‘get-rich-quick' scheme lines such as “Pipcoin will create over a 100 millionaires by the end of this financial year”. These are revealing signs of a fraudulent scheme. Moreover, pipcoin is a closed system, you cannot trade with anyone other than randomly chose people registered on the website. Their blockchain is not public or transparent, in fact, they do not have a blockchain and, if they do have one, then it is not operational.
So who's behind it? Who is this Ref dude?
According to his Twitter bio he's "Youngest Billionaire in Africa | Founder of African 1st ever digital currency ! Get a minimum interest of 35% @infopipcoin"
here are some choice images from his public FB:
I tried to register on https://mypipcoins.com/ but there's an ASPX error during the registration process and it kept trying to switch between https and http. Great start. I tried in all major browsers and they all failed so I gave up on trying to signup with my temp email [email protected] :(
So then, lets take a closer look at the support they offer on their site. They've got one of those "live chat" widgets on their site and this evening there was actually someone online :)
I said "hello" and saw "busi has joined the conversation" - sweet.
Here is the transcript I downloaded before they killed the chat. Lucky I insta-clicked the download before they killed my chat session.
As you can see by the chat log, Busi linked me to whats obviously the new 'site' they're launching this weekend https://pipchain.com/
The site looks a lot like the blockchain.info website.
Their market page is awesome compared to blockchain.info's one! its even got a bigger market cap! Note the article links are all the same, except for two small things.
  1. None of the links work...because
  2. they've done a find&replace in the code, replacing all instances of "bitcoin" with "pipcoin" XD
Anyway, I thought I'd try signup on THIS site and lo 'n behold I managed to sign up! [email protected] lives!
Here is PIPcoin's dashboard and here is Blockchain.info's dashboard.
Here is PIPcoins transactions page and here is Blockchain.info's transaction page.
So pretty much a blatant copy/pasta job.
-- final thoughts --
Its unfortunate that the quality of journalism in SA is so weak. PIPcoin getting a lot of media attention for something thats honestly so dodgy, if you looked at it for more than 5 minutes you'd know. Many people are going to fall for this and if you look at the comments on twitter or on his FB posts or on any video calling out the scam you'll shake your head.
Someone (not me) has even put this site together https://www.pipcoin.co/ which is as informative as it is awesome! Click the login and it takes you to "Logging in should be the last thing you should be worried about right now." and the bottom of the site has the best burn ever
"This website was built as a public service announcement by concerned citizens (and shows what a legitimate site should look like"
I did try connect with the 'owner' via twitter to find the source/calculation of the "R40 314 800,00 lost & counting" figure but so far no reply.
Anyway its late and I'm going to bed. I hope you learnt something and if you see anyone in your social circles promoting this please make them aware.
EDIT: Reddit formatting is hard.
EDIT2: Got a reply from the person behind the pipcoin.co site - http://imgur.com/a/995oN which honestly shows the lack of skills the scheme has in the development/security field and now if you rewatch the interviews you can see why he's so scripted when talking about the tech stack.
EDIT3: Sigh. I made a comment on the PIPcoin FB page to warn people about this and this is the response I found this morning - http://imgur.com/a/tFoAy I dont even know what/how to respond...

Journaling 101

I've recently been working on creating and refining a new edge. Journaling is an essential part of that process and it inspired me to make this post since some people might not see the importance of keeping one.

Journaling is one of the most important aspects of your trading.

It can be a chore, but keeping a trading journal is incredibly useful.

Why Journal?

Because if you set one up and use it correctly, that's where you'll find patterns. Patterns in the markets, patterns in your trades, and patterns in your trading behaviour. You can use a journal find new edges. Or to refine your entries, exits, SLs, TPs, holding times, etc. Or to find and address any bad trading behaviours (eg. moving SLs when you shouldn't be, or skipping valid set ups out of fear). You get the idea - it's really handy.

What should you put in your journal?

As much as you can - without discouraging yourself from actually using it consistently. That's going to differ for everyone. Do some googling (or ask people here on reddit) to see what other people have found useful variables to track. There's also lots of templates available online to copy (eg. here or here). Keep in mind that different technical set ups will require different variables to track.
A few that I think are very useful yet often overlooked include - maximum adverse excursion, maximum favourable excursion, tracking the performance (using R multiples) of a few alternative exit methods, and the name of the day of the week at entry.

So what should you do?

Step 1 - Think long and hard about the appropriate variables you think you should track - ones that could influence your trade performance.
Step 2 - Update your journal regularly. I like to do it at the end of every trading day while the trades are still fresh in my mind. Find what works for you.
Step 3 - Periodically go back and analyse your journal. You might find that your win rate drops significantly on Fridays and thus makes your Friday trades have a negative expectancy. You might find that having RSI divergence at your entry signal increases the expectancy of the trade by 13%. You might find that exiting at ATR significantly outperforms both exiting at your Bollinger bands or exiting at a 161.8% fib extension. You get the idea?
Step 4 - Act on the information provided by your journal. Skip those Friday trades. Add RSI divergence to your entry requirements. Exit at ATR. Whatever.
